Everyone should be able to share their story. Whether you write for yourself, your family, or the world, you can get immense joy and fulfillment from writing about your life.

Everyone should be able to experience that.

But traditionally, the publishing industry has really sucked at supporting writers who are Black, Indigenous, people of color, and LGBTQ+ people.

It’s not okay.

The Green Goose Scholarship Program provides financial support to writers who have traditionally been under-supported in the publishing industry.

The program covers 100 percent of the cost of the Write Your Memoir course for writers who identify as:

  • Black,

  • Indigenous,

  • A person of color, or

  • An LQBTQ+ person.

If you’re a writer (or aspiring writer!) with one or more of these identities, I invite you to read the details below and apply to this program.

The world needs your voice. The world needs your story.

Variety is the writer’s life

This summer, I wrote, swam, edited, paddle boarded, coached writers, ate, edited, wrote, and ate lots more. I drank beer, margaritas, gin, wine, and I think a Smirnoff Ice slipped in there somewhere. I splurged on variety, in work, and in life. And I became inspired. Variety fuels inspiration, which ignites great writing. How will you add variety to your writing life? Read more…
