I friggin’ love these meal kits. Have you tried them? Don’t worry—I’m not here to sell you into my meal kit cult. I just wanna inspire you to take THE LAZY WAY into writing your book. For reals. Here’s why…

Life is easier when we follow a plan

Making dinner? It’s easier when I have all the steps spelled out in a fun little recipe card.

Like, don’t tell me to make Thai-Style Turkey Krapow. I don’t know how to do that! I guess I could figure out how to make something kinda krapow-ish.

But since I don’t know what goes into making krapow—or even what the hell krapow IS—it’s kinda a lost cause.

Instead, I want Mr Meal Kit Man to say, “Here, Liz, measure ten cups of water into a large pot. Now open the bag of edamame and pour those suckers in.”

THAT is how I want to make something I’ve never done before.

THAT is what removes the stress and makes it actually enjoyable. That is what ensures I don’t take 17 hours to get din-dins on the table.

So let’s use a plan for writing

See where I’m going with this?

A plan helps. It makes things faster, less stressful, and more enjoyable.

So… if you’ve never written a book before, follow a plan.

Oh, what’s that you say? You don’t have a plan, you say? Of course not! Why would you when you’ve never done it before.

So, borrow a plan from someone who knows how to make krapow write a book.

I don’t care who, to be honest. There are tons of us book coaches floating around the interweb. (I mean, clearly I’m the best. But whatever.)

Pick whoever floats your boat and use their guidance.

Let them tell you how much water to use and when to add the edamame. Because it’s too damn hard to figure it all out yourself on your first time in the kitchen.

Cut yourself some slack. Pick the lazy route. Pinch someone else’s plan.

I can’t wait to see what you cook up!
